What is the purpose of the Footscray Traders Association?
The purpose of the Footscray Traders Association is twofold and connected:
• To represent retail and commercial businesses throughout Footscray,
• To promote Footscray as a great place to trade, shop and live.
How do we do this?
• By communicating with Council or Government as a representative body,
• By promoting Footscray businesses to the local and wider community,
• By facilitating connections between Footscray Traders,
• By the sharing of information.
Benefits of Membership
Advocacy - The Footscray Traders Association gives a public voice and acts to protect the wellbeing of the Footscray business community as a whole. A stronger Footscray helps everybody.
Promotion - Members will be listed and promoted on our website directory and online using social media channels including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter & Google.
Networking events - Networking opportunities will be offered to give Members an invaluable chance to connect, create relationships and strengthen ties.
Professional development - Opportunities offered in the form of workshops, seminars and online information sharing also provide the chance to learn from and connect with other Members and potential mentors.
Information/news - Becoming a member will give timely access to local news or developments, including Council decision making.
Become a committee member - Any paid Member may apply to be on the Committee and elections are held annually.
Who is eligible to join the Footscray Traders Association?
Anyone with an ABN doing business in Footscray by providing goods or services in the 3011 postcode.
The Footscray Traders Association also welcomes applications by Supporting or Sponsor Partners; that is individuals or organisations who are not necessarily Footscray Traders but wish to support the Association with financial, material or in-kind support. Supporting Partners can be recognised by way of co-branding opportunities as well as invitations to attend Footscray Traders events.
Membership Fees
While all Members receive equal representation by the Footscray Traders Association, a tiered fee structure enables the Association to keep fees low, ensuring accessibility for all, whilst encouraging those who can pay more to do so.
Fee Structure
Red Member: $60 p/a
White Member: $120 p/a
Blue Member: $500 p/a
All Members are provided with a Footscray Traders logo which can be used on their own promotional material and a Footscray Traders display sticker.
All Members are listed on the footscraytraders.com.au website with a brief description of their business and an image or logo as supplied or available.
White and Blue Members additionally receive a more detailed Trader or Business profile which appears on a “Feature Profiles” page on the footscraytraders.com.au website and is posted to the Footscray Traders Facebook Page and via other social media channels.
Blue Members additionally have the option to have their business logo placed in the Footscray Traders website footer together with Supporting Partners
